True Pros Media was founded by me, Jake James, in the summer of 2023. While studying the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) industry, I began noticing similarities to the world of trading—different styles, approaches, and varying appetites for risk. As I learned more, these parallels reminded me of the Market Wizards books by Jack Schwager, which I've long been a fan of. I thought to myself: wouldn't it be great if there were something similar for CRE?
After exploring a few books that focused on specific roles or niches within the industry, I realized there wasn't anything that captured the broader spectrum of possibilities in CRE. Figuring I had little to lose, I reached out to Chris Powers and Moses Kagan. Both were not only gracious enough to agree to interviews but also encouraged the idea, saying they thought it had real potential.
From there, I continued reaching out to others and was met with the same generosity from the incredible professionals I ended up interviewing. Over the next five months, I traveled across the country to conduct 12 in-person interviews with seasoned experts for this book.
If this project is well-received, I'm excited about the possibility of a follow-up book in another industry, along with additional media projects to complement the work.
